The Ferrx Company

Ferrx was established in 2005 based on a new and patented method for stress and fatigue determination. FEMM (Ferrx ElectroMagnetic Method) provides for unique monitoring as it measures the actual fatigue processes and deterioration in steel structures and reduces the risk for hazardous incidents.

Ferrx is an independent company located in Trondheim, and with the business idea to develop the FEMM technology as an industrial method for different onshore and offshore applications, and to service the global market in cooperation with partners.

Test facilities

Ferrx has test facilities in its own FoU laboratory at Moholt for stress testing of steel specimens and railway rails. Cyclic fatigue testing is run in laboratories at NTNU and SINTEF Marintek and in close cooperation with their scientists.
