System Installed on Railway Rail measuring stress for monitoring of rail’s neutral temperature
A trial to demonstrate field operation of the FEMM technology was started in March 2009. The system monitors the railway rail’s neutral temperature by measuring stress in the rail. The system is fully autonomous, powered by solar cell panels, takes daily readings and transfers data via GSM to an Internet server. This trial demonstrated the ability and reliability of FEMM as a system for remote condition monitoring of a steel structure.
